Faculty-led Travel Opportunity | Spring 2017

Northeast students visiting Costa Rica in 2017.

Four Northeast faculty took the classroom outdoors and overseas in this unique study abroad opportunity for ten students enrolled in Introduction to Environmental Issues during the spring 2017 term! Following six weeks of training on equipment, preliminary experiments, and forming hypotheses, the Northeast students and faculty leaders traveled to Costa Rica to put their training to the test.

Students tested water, air, and soil quality, as well as experienced firsthand the flora and the fauna of this tropical region. Following their weeklong study abroad, students returned to the Northeast classroom to analyze their findings and share those results with the college community.
