  • Northeast students place third at NACTA Conference

    by jamesc  4/19/2016 1:57:15 PM --  CROOKSTON, MN – Northeast Community College students finished in third place in sweepstakes for two-year colleges at the 2016 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Conference held at the University of Minnesota – Crookston. Northeast was one of 12 community colleges and 19 university teams to compete in the April 14-16 conference.

  • Northeast students named to PTK All Nebraska Team

    by jamesc  4/19/2016 11:55:49 AM --  LINCOLN – Four Northeast Community College students were recognized recently in Lincoln for being named to the 2016 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-Nebraska Academic Team. Cedric Biteghe Bi Ndong, Libreville, Gabon, Africa, Ada Buenrostro, Sioux City, IA, Brooke Gettman, Norfolk, and Ron Nichols, Norfolk, joined 25 other all-state team members from Nebraska’s five other community colleges in a ceremony at the Cornhusker Hotel.

  • Northeast seeks Ag-Ceptional Woman nominations

    by jamesc  4/15/2016 9:16:11 AM --  NORFOLK – The United States Department of Agriculture’s Census of Agriculture reports that the number of farms operated by women nearly tripled from 1978 to 2007 and the statistic continues to rise. Northeast Community College recognizes the vital role that women play in agriculture and honors one individual each year during its AG-ceptional Women’s Conference.

  • Murray Named All American

    by jamesc  4/12/2016 8:45:33 AM --  NORFOLK – A member of the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team has earned All American honors. Sophomore Raveen Murray has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) Women’s Division I Honorable Mention team.

  • CROP-IT is a national finalist in Community College Innovation Challenge

  • Northeast inducts new Phi Theta Kappa members

    by jamesc  3/23/2016 3:47:23 PM --  NORFOLK - A special ceremony was held recently on the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College to welcome the newest members into its international honor society. One-hundred-fifty-four students were installed into Northeast’s Phi Theta Kappa, (PTK), Tau Chi chapter during the spring 2016 induction ceremony held in the Lifelong Learning Center.

  • New residence hall to be named after former college president

    by jamesc  3/10/2016 4:46:05 PM --  NORFOLK – In keeping with tradition, a new residence hall at Northeast Community College will be named after a former college president. The Board of Governors unanimously approved a recommendation Thursday to name the new building after Dr. Bill Path, who served as president of Northeast from 2001-2011.

  • Documentary directed by Northeast instructor to be screened at Omaha festival

    by jamesc  2/26/2016 9:19:54 AM --  NORFOLK - When Voices Meet, an award-winning documentary feature film directed by an instructor at Northeast Community College will be one of only six documentaries to be shown at the upcoming Omaha Film Festival. Nancy Sutton Smith teaches digital cinema and mass media at Northeast and is also the advisor for the college newspaper, The Viewpoint.

  • Northeast is among Top 150 community colleges in the United States

    by jamesc  1/26/2016 11:26:31 AM --  Washington, DC – Highlighting the critical importance of improving student success in America’s community colleges, the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program today named Northeast Community College as one of the nation’s top 150 community colleges eligible to compete for the 2017 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and $1 million dollars in prize funds, as well as Siemens Technical Scholars Program student scholarships.

  • Metoyer named ICCAC Player of the Week

Sophomore Kevin Metoyer, Omaha, has been named the Men’s Division I Player of the Week by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference
