  • Nebraska Farm Bureau Honored at Northeast Ag Conference

    by jamesc  12/15/2014 11:06:14 AM --  NORFOLK – Nebraska’s largest, voluntary agricultural organization, lobbying on behalf of farmers and farming communities, was recognized at the recent AG-ceptional Women’s Conference at Northeast Community College here. The Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation was presented with the Conference’s Award of Merit at the College’s Lifelong Learning Center. Deanna Karmazin, executive director of the Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Foundation, accepted the award.

  • Northeast Honors Employees with US Bank Awards

  • Northeast Students Finish 1-2 at Truck Driving Championships

    by jamesc  12/4/2014 12:39:40 PM --  OMAHA – Two students in the Northeast Community College truck driving program took top honors at the Nebraska Student Truck Driving Championship recently in Omaha. Juan Pizano, Sioux City, IA, took the first place overall prize, while Shawn Anderson, Wisner, placed second. Jeffrey Kappus of Metropolitan Community College (MCC) was third.

  • Northeast Volleyball Team Members Earn Postseason Honors

  • Winkelbauer Named AG-ceptional Woman of the Year

    by jamesc  11/24/2014 8:52:13 AM --  NORFOLK – A Norfolk woman has been recognized for her contributions to agriculture. Dawn Winkelbauer was honored as the AG-ceptional Woman of the Year at the 6th Annual AG-ceptional Women’s Conference on Friday at the Lifelong Learning Center at Northeast Community College here. The announcement was revealed during a video tribute that was played during the opening session of the conference. The video was sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America and produced by the Northeast Agriculture Department and Media Production Group.

  • Northeast Business Students Honored at the State Capitol

    by jamesc  11/20/2014 8:08:39 AM --  LINCOLN – Two Northeast Community College business students were honored this week in Lincoln for recognition of their placement at a national conference this summer. Beth Ebmeier, Laurel, and Jenna McCleary, Battle Creek, were honored at the Nebraska State Board of Education’s “Commissioners Recognition of Student Excellence in Career Education” program in the state capitol rotunda. McCleary was unable to attend the event.

  • Davies Receives Distinguished Honor from NCCA

    by jamesc  11/6/2014 4:11:56 PM --  LINCOLN – The chairperson of the Northeast Community College Board of Governors has earned a distinguished honor from the Nebraska Community College Association (NCCA). John W. Davies, of Pilger, was presented with the NCCA’s 2014 Governor’s Award during the NCCA’s annual meeting recently in Lincoln. The award is presented annually to one board member from five of the state’s community college areas.

  • Nelson is Named Distinguished Alumni by NCCA

    by jamesc  11/6/2014 4:08:53 PM --  LINCOLN – A doctor of physical therapy from West Point has been recognized by the Nebraska Community College Association (NCCA). Dr. Terry Nelson was honored for outstanding career achievement with the NCCA’s Northeast Community College Area Distinguished Alumni Award during the organization’s annual meeting recently in Lincoln. The award is presented annually to one alumnus from five of the state’s community college areas.

  • Northeast Archer Wins National Match

    by jamesc  10/24/2014 3:49:26 PM --  COLOMBIA, MO – A member of the Northeast Community College archery team has earned national honors. Victoria Novak, Holdrege, finished with the highest score in the Women’s Basic Bow class at the 3-D United States Intercollegiate Archery Championships in Columbia, MO. She won a plaque and a $500 scholarship for finishing first.

  • Northeast Livestock Judging Team Competes at AkSarBen

  • Broadcasting Students Receive Scholarships

    by jamesc  8/22/2014 2:05:35 PM --  LINCOLN – Two Northeast Community College students have earned scholarships from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association (NBA). Sophomores Cole Hein, David City, and Dylan Strohl-Yeomans, Taylor, have each been awarded $500 scholarships. The NBA awards a $1,000 scholarship to each of its member schools to be used by students who are studying for careers in the radio/television industry. Northeast became a member of the association in 2013.

  • Board of Governors Recognizes Willers

    by jamesc  8/15/2014 12:10:42 PM --  NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College Board of Governors has recognized one of its own for his heroic actions over the summer. During a lunch break at its monthly meeting Thursday in Norfolk, John W. Davies, board chairperson, declared August 14, 2014, as “Gene Willers Day.” Davies and Willers are more than just colleagues on the board - they are friends and neighbors who live in and near the village of Pilger.
