Karen Grant was honored as the AG-ceptional Woman of the Year at the Seventh Annual AG-ceptional Women’s Conference on Friday at the Lifelong Learning Center at Northeast Community College here.

  • Northeast South Sioux City Soccer Club recognized

    by jamesc  11/11/2015 3:33:20 PM --  SOUTH SIOUX CITY – Members of the Northeast Community College club soccer team in South Sioux City have been recognized for their character of play. The team was awarded the South Sioux City Adult League Sportsmanship Trophy during an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the season. The trophy is awarded to a team based on votes by the leagues’ referees and organization officers.

  • Northeast recognized for its outstanding landscaping

    by jamesc  10/22/2015 9:09:01 AM --  NORFOLK – The hundreds of people who come on to the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College on a daily basis already know just how beautiful the grounds really are. Now the College is being recognized for its efforts. Northeast Community College was presented with the Green Leaf Award for outstanding landscaping efforts at a recent meeting of the Norfolk City Council. The award is sponsored by the city’s Tree Advisory Board.

  • Davies earns national honor from ACCT

Davies, a member of the Northeast Community College Board of Governors, has been recognized nationally for his work in higher education. Davies, of Pilger, is one of five people to be named a finalist for the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) 2015 M. Dale Ensign Trustee Leadership Award. Davies, the Western Region finalist, joined trustees from community colleges in California, New Jersey, North Carolina and Ohio, during an awards ceremony held recently here.

  • Turpin named Northeast Distinguished Alumni

    by jamesc  10/12/2015 9:01:07 AM --  SCOTTSBLUFF – A recognizable name that is formerly associated with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has been recognized by the Nebraska Community College Association (NCCA). Richard “Dick” Turpin was honored for outstanding career achievement recently with the NCCA’s Northeast Community College Area Distinguished Alumni Award during the organization’s annual meeting, held at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff. The award is presented annually to one alumnus from five of the state’s community college areas.

  • Severson named top community college administrator

    by jamesc  10/9/2015 11:01:54 AM --  SCOTTSBLUFF – The vice president of Student Services at Northeast Community College has been recognized as the top administrator among Nebraska’s community college. Dr. Karen Severson was presented with the 2015 Nebraska Community College Association (NCCA) Administrator’s Award during the NCCA’s annual meeting Monday in Scottsbluff. The award is presented annually to one administrator from five of the state’s community college areas.

  • Shoemaker named to WYOBRASKA All Tournament Team

    by jamesc  9/23/2015 4:37:33 PM --  NORFOLK – A member of the #20 Northeast Community College volleyball team has been named to the All-Tournament Team of the WYOBRASKA Shootout, held last weekend in Scottsbluff, NE, and Torrington, WY. Kelsey Shoemaker, a 5’ 10” freshman from Stanton, was one of 14 players to be named to the team.

  • Classrooms to be named for NAHB, Black Hills Energy

    by jamesc  8/13/2015 11:36:27 AM --  NORFOLK – Two classrooms in Northeast Community College’s new Applied Technology building will bear the names of corporations that have provided equipment and support to the College.The Northeast Board of Governors has approved naming the classroom for the building construction program after the Norfolk Area Homebuilders Association, while the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) classroom will feature the name of Black Hills Energy.

  • Northeast business students compete at national conference

    by jamesc  7/15/2015 10:32:31 AM --  CHICAGO - More than 1,600 of America’s best and brightest college students traveled to the Windy City to Step Up to the Challenge as they showcased their talents as future business leaders and vied for the opportunity to win more than $81,000 in cash awards. This included members of the Northeast Community College Phi Beta Lambda chapter.

  • Northeast Student-Athletes Earn All Academic Honors

The twenty-two student-athletes have been named to the Spring 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association Region XI Academic All-Region Teams. Northeast is a member of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

  • Cornett Leads Northeast Archery Team at Nationals

    by jamesc  6/10/2015 3:20:50 PM --  NEWBERRY, FL – Steve Cornett led the Northeast Community College archery team with several top ten finishes at the 2015 Intercollegiate Archery Championships at the Easton Newberry Center here recently. The national championships attracted teams from several major universities, including Stanford and Michigan State, as well as state, community and technical colleges from across the country.

  • Johnsons' Design to be Featured During Norfolk's 150th

    by jamesc  6/1/2015 3:34:00 PM --  NORFOLK – A logo that will be used to mark the City of Norfolk’s sesquicentennial has been designed by an artist who works at Northeast Community College. The design of Jeanette Johnson, Northeast publications coordinator, will be incorporated into everything surrounding the community’s 150th anniversary in 2016.
