  • Risinger Green joins Northeast

    by jamesc  6/24/2016 8:57:30 AM --  NORFOLK – Susan Risinger Green has joined Northeast Community College to serve as the campaign coordinator for its proposed Agriculture, Water and Energy Center of Excellence. She joins the College after more than 27 years at WJAG, Lite Rock 97.5 and 106KIX Radio in Norfolk, where she served as assistant news director and farm director.

  • Northeast hosts basketball camps

    by amandab  6/22/2016 8:06:51 AM --  Matt Svehla, women’s basketball coach at Northeast Community College, leads a shooting drill during Northeast’s annual Basketball Camp this week on the Norfolk campus. Boys and girls in grades 3-12 took part in skills and position and shooting camps, and a four-on-four league over the past two weeks.

  • Northeast instructor becomes Certified Loss Control Professional

Kory Hildebrand, job training and safety instructor at Northeast, has met the requirements to become a Certified Loss Control Professional.

  • Northeast's Helena Acre partnership kicks off planting season

After several rain delays, a team consisting of Helena representatives and Northeast Agriculture faculty and administrators were eager to begin work on the 40A field at Northeast’s College Farm as part of the Helena Acre partnership.

  • Northeast sheds light on importance of utility linemen

On Tuesday of this week, Northeast Community College joined electric utilities across the nation to thank the men and women who make sure the power stays on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

  • Northeast students place third at NACTA Conference

    by jamesc  4/19/2016 1:57:15 PM --  CROOKSTON, MN – Northeast Community College students finished in third place in sweepstakes for two-year colleges at the 2016 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Conference held at the University of Minnesota – Crookston. Northeast was one of 12 community colleges and 19 university teams to compete in the April 14-16 conference.

  • CROP-IT is a national finalist in Community College Innovation Challenge

    by jamesc  4/7/2016 8:37:12 AM --  WASHINGTON D.C. - The National Science Foundation (NSF), in partnership with the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), has named Northeast Community College as one of 10 finalists for the second annual Community College Innovation Challenge, which fosters the development of crucial innovation skills among students.

  • Northeast ag students successfully develop soil probe resolution

  • Documentary directed by Northeast instructor to be screened at Omaha festival

    by jamesc  2/26/2016 9:19:54 AM --  NORFOLK - When Voices Meet, an award-winning documentary feature film directed by an instructor at Northeast Community College will be one of only six documentaries to be shown at the upcoming Omaha Film Festival. Nancy Sutton Smith teaches digital cinema and mass media at Northeast and is also the advisor for the college newspaper, The Viewpoint.

  • Hawk sculpture project takes flight at Northeast Community College

    by amandab  2/22/2016 11:13:18 AM --  NORFOLK - What started as only an idea proposed by Northeast Community College’s Student Government Association (SGA) two years ago is quickly becoming a reality. A new sculpture of a hawk, Northeast’s mascot, is set for unveiling here this spring.

  • Northeast Veterinary Technology students receive coats and pins at ceremony

Members of the class of 2016 received their veterinary technician’s pins. Members of the Class of 2017 were awarded a monogrammed white coat to mark their formal acceptance into the program.

  • Northeast team shares successes with colleges and universities across the country

As a result, recruiting and retaining such distinct student groups, each with unique needs, can be challenging. Northeast has found a solution in connecting with prospective students, current students, alumni, donors and others and it has shared its success with other colleges and universities across the country.
