  • AG-ceptional Women's Conference is November 21 at Northeast

This year’s event will be held Friday, November 21, from 8 a.m. – 5p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Center on Northeast’s campus in Norfolk. Advance registration is now open with a cost of $38, which includes lunch.

  • Northeast Students Continue to See the World

    by jamesc  9/17/2014 10:12:31 AM --  NORFOLK - Eleven Northeast Community College students and three faculty leaders had an opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Spain and Italy over the summer, resulting in many wonderful memories and rare experiences. The trip was part of Northeast’s growing Global Educational Opportunities initiative, which has been designated as one of the College’s eight institutional priorities.

  • Northeast Speech Team Prepares for Upcoming Season

In addition to earning 50 trophies during the 2013-14 season, the Hawks captured the Division II First Place Team Sweepstakes title at the Junior Varsity National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS.

  • Northeast to Offer Free GED Ready Test

    by jamesc  9/10/2014 2:43:33 PM --  NORFOLK – Northeast Community College will provide an opportunity for students who have an interest in taking the General Education Development (GED®) test. For a limited time only, the College’s Adult Education Department will sponsor free GED practice tests to all interested students from Monday, September 22 through Wednesday, October 1. The tests will be available in the Northeast Community College Adult Education Department in the Maclay building on the Norfolk campus; at Northeast’s Extended Campus in O’Neill, at 409 East Adams Street; and at the South Sioux City Public Library, at 2014 West 21st Street.

  • Board of Governors Approves 2014-15 Budget

    by jamesc  9/9/2014 4:34:33 PM --  NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College Board of Governors has given unanimous approval to the College’s 2014-15 budgets, which include a slight decrease in the property tax levy. The action took place Tuesday following public hearings during the board’s monthly meeting in Norfolk.

  • Nebraska Poets to Visit Northeast

    by jamesc  9/5/2014 10:29:45 AM --  NORFOLK – Two Nebraska poets will open the Visiting Writers Series for the fall semester at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Dr. Don Welch and Dwaine Speiker will read their works on Wednesday, September 17, at 7 p.m. in Hawks Landing in the Northeast Student Center.

  • Northeast Faculty Members Take Part in Lineworkers Rodeo

The third annual Lineworker’s Rodeo was held recently at the Nebraska State Fair’s Motor Sports Track in Grand Island.

  • Northeast Volleyball Team Opens the Season 2-2

  • ALS-Chipps Ice Bucket Challenge

    by jamesc  8/26/2014 1:26:27 PM --  NORFOLK – A hard hat is not enough if you decide to take part in the latest sensation that is designed to raise money for a good cause. Dr. Michael Chipps, president of Northeast Community College, found that out recently as he and 14 other college administrators took part in the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Ice Bucket Challenge. Proceeds from the event will go to the ALS in the Heartland chapter.

  • Northeast HVAC Instructor Among the Nation's Best

Paul Bailey, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) instructor, has been named to HVACclasses.org’s “Ten Top Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Instructors” in the United States.

  • New Academic Dean, Faculty at Northeast Community College

  • Home Builders Contribute $30,000 to Northeast Community College

    by jamesc  8/14/2014 5:15:54 PM --  NORFOLK – The building construction program at Northeast Community College is the recipient of a large gift from the Norfolk Area Home Builders (NAHB) Association. As a long-standing backer of the program, NAHB has committed $30,000 to equipping the building construction program’s lab area in the College’s new Applied Technology building, proving its continued support of all the programs to be housed in the new facility.

  • Hawks Volleyball Team Prepares for Upcoming Season

    by jamesc  8/14/2014 4:51:40 PM --  NORFOLK – Five returning players will be joined by six newcomers to make up this season’s Northeast Community College volleyball team. Last year’s squad was the first volleyball team at the College since Northeast reinstated the sport after a decade long absence.

  • Northeast Awarded $25,000 JOBS Grant

    by jamesc  8/11/2014 11:10:03 AM --  WISNER – Northeast Community College has been awarded a $25,000 grant that will assist in its on-going efforts in developing a unique curriculum related to workforce training needs. The funds will be used to support implementation of Northeast’s Manufacturing Bootcamp, which is currently being piloted in Cuming County and the surrounding area.

  • Northeast Community College Leaders Attend Industry Credential Conference
