  • Northeast hosts Construction Career Day

  • Northeast to observe MFG DAY

    by jamesc  9/18/2015 5:26:40 PM --  NORFOLK – Students, parents and the public are welcome to visit Northeast Community College in early October to take part in a nationwide event designed to showcase the many prospects available in the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing Day (MFG DAY) will be held on Thursday, October 1, from 4-8 p.m. in the Applied Technology building on the Norfolk campus.

  • Northeast to observe National Literacy Week

    by jamesc  9/18/2015 5:23:11 PM --  NORFOLK – The Adult Education Department at Northeast Community College will spotlight its programs next week as part of National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, September 21-26. An open house will be held on Thursday, September 24, to explain the services and tools utilized in the program. It will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Maclay building, Room 190, on the Norfolk campus.

  • Ag-Ceptional Women's Conference set at Northeast

    by jamesc  9/18/2015 5:20:31 PM --  NORFOLK – Early registration is encouraged for anyone who plans to attend Northeast Community College’s annual AG-ceptional Women’s Conference. This year’s event will be held Friday, November 20, from 8 a.m. – 5p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Center on Northeast’s campus in Norfolk. Advance registration, which is $38, is now open on the Northeast Community College website.

  • Northeast receives federal TRIO Grant

  • Northeast students have Celtic experience

    by jamesc  8/6/2015 4:36:48 PM --  NORFOLK – It isn’t every day that a U.S. citizen gets to speak with political prisoners from the days of the Irish “Troubles,” but that was one of many unique encounters this summer for 24 students and three faculty leaders from Northeast Community College in Norfolk. The group, a component of Northeast’s growing Global Opportunities initiatives, traveled as part of the Celtic Experience, a semester-long three-credit hour class during which students were immersed in everything Irish and Scottish, culminating in a 14-day travel abroad to those countries.

  • Northeast prepares to move into its new extended campus

    by jamesc  7/30/2015 3:29:55 PM --  O’NEILL – With construction coming to a close and classes beginning in less than a month, faculty and staff at Northeast Community College are beginning the process of moving into a new extended campus facility in O’Neill. Classes will begin in the College’s new operation at 505 East Highway 20 on Monday, August 24. They were previously held in a former elementary school building the College has used for a number of years at 409 East Adams Street.

  • Northeast hosts Personal Finance Institute

The three-day training allowed them the opportunity to learn more about personal finance content, innovative and creative teaching methods and resources, as well as earn financial education industry certification.

  • Northeast business students compete at national conference

    by jamesc  7/15/2015 10:32:31 AM --  CHICAGO - More than 1,600 of America’s best and brightest college students traveled to the Windy City to Step Up to the Challenge as they showcased their talents as future business leaders and vied for the opportunity to win more than $81,000 in cash awards. This included members of the Northeast Community College Phi Beta Lambda chapter.

  • Northeast's Diversified Manufacturing Program Addresses Skills Gap

It is often the perception that these types of facilities bring stable and relatively high paying jobs with them. While that is generally a true statement, it comes at a time when a study shows that Americans are reluctant to choose a career in manufacturing.

  • Corkle Named Coordinator of Northeast's Tri-County Office

    by jamesc  6/12/2015 9:04:50 AM --  AINSWORTH – Northeast Community College has named Sonja “Sonny” Corkle as its new part-time regional coordinator to serve Brown, Keya Paha and Rock counties in the College’s western service area. She began her new duties June 1.

  • Ripple Named New Athletic Director at Northeast

    by jamesc  6/2/2015 5:32:57 PM --  NORFOLK – Jacob Ripple has been named the new director of athletics at Northeast Community College.He arrives at Northeast with an extensive resume at the junior/community college level– most recently serving as eligibility and athletic academic coordinator at Blinn College in Brenham, TX.

  • Johnsons' Design to be Featured During Norfolk's 150th

    by jamesc  6/1/2015 3:34:00 PM --  NORFOLK – A logo that will be used to mark the City of Norfolk’s sesquicentennial has been designed by an artist who works at Northeast Community College. The design of Jeanette Johnson, Northeast publications coordinator, will be incorporated into everything surrounding the community’s 150th anniversary in 2016.
