    NORFOLK – Northeast Community College graphic design students will be showcasing their work during the programs’ annual portfolio show. This year’s event will be held Sunday, May 7, from 2-5 p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Northeast campus here.

    NORFOLK – Hundreds of students from approximately 60 Nebraska high schools were on the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College this week to take part in the 2017 Nebraska State Journalism Championships. The one-day event was sponsored by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA), the Norfolk Area Sports Council and Northeast Community College.

Boullion, who is retiring this spring, has served in the music department at Northeast for 31 years.

  • Howells-Dodge's Brester signs to play volleyball at Northeast

    by amandab  4/27/2017 9:04:01 AM --  NORFOLK - Samantha Brester, a standout volleyball player from Howells-Dodge High School, has signed to play volleyball at Northeast Community College this fall. A four-year starter and four-year letter winner for the Jaguars, Brester recorded 60 assists, 295 digs, 778 kills, 68 ace serves, 115 solo blocks and 289 assist blocks in her career.

  • Nebraska Forest Service recognizes Northeast's Arbor Day program

    LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Forest Service has recognized Northeast Community College for its hands-on work with young children that allows them to discover the importance of trees. Representatives of the College were presented with the agency’s Educator Award during its annual Nebraska Community Forestry and Tree City, Campus and Line USA Recognition Day. It was one of eleven awards presented during the event held earlier this month in Lincoln.

  • Northeast to celebrate the arts

Poetry, prose, music and visual art will be featured during the third annual Arts Night on Wednesday, May 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in Hawks’ Landing in the upper level of the Student Center on the Norfolk campus.

  • Northeast signs MOU with Mount Marty College

    YANKTON, SD - Students will have the opportunity to benefit from a new partnership between Mount Marty College and Northeast Community College beginning later this year. The presidents of the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Friday on Mount Marty’s campus here to create an educational transfer pathway from Northeast to Mount Marty.

  • Mead recognized for his artistry for Northeast’s hawk sculpture

    NORFOLK – The former Northeast Community College instructor who crafted a stainless statue of the institution’s mascot has been recognized for his work. Merle Mead was surprised with a plaque acknowledging his work on the Hawk statute at a recent meeting of the College Board of Governors.

  • Luncheon honors Northeast Community College scholarship recipients and sponsors

    NORFOLK – Northeast Community College celebrated the generosity of those who have given of their resources to ensure that students are allowed to pursue higher education degrees. Students and their sponsors sat together and heard inspirational stories during the College’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon held in the Lifelong Learning Center here recently.

  • Northeast to host health and wellness career camp for high school students

    by amandab  4/19/2017 2:11:18 PM --  NORFOLK - High school students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare are invited to sign up for an upcoming summer career camp at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Health and Wellness Summer Career Camp will be held Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 2, on the Norfolk campus. Camp meets 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

  • Northeast signs four additional baseball recruits

    NORFOLK, NE – Northeast Community College has signed four additional recruits to play baseball next season. The signees include Andrew Harrah, a catcher/right handed pitcher, Jared Nemec, a right-handed pitcher/infielder and Brennen Bales, a right-handed pitcher/infielder, all from Nebraska City, NE, and third baseman Domanique Sanders, Fountain, CO.
