    NORFOLK, NE – Northeast Community College has named a new director of athletics. Kurt Kohler comes to Northeast from Fort Hays State University in Kansas, where he has served as head volleyball coach for the past nine seasons.

    CAGUAS, PUERTO RICO – Northeast Community College’s latest baseball recruit hales from Puerto Rico. Hawks Coach Marcus Clapp said Jean M. Santos, Caguas, Puerto Rico, is the program’s 33rd commitment for the upcoming season. He previously attended Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and High School.

    FAIRBANKS, AK – Northeast Community College has signed a recruit from Alaska to play baseball next season. Colin King, Fairbanks, AK, is the Hawk’s 27th commitment to the College’s new program. He played for Lathrop High School.

    NORFOLK, NE – Northeast Community College has signed four additional recruits to play baseball next season. The signees include Andrew Harrah, a catcher/right handed pitcher, Jared Nemec, a right-handed pitcher/infielder and Brennen Bales, a right-handed pitcher/infielder, all from Nebraska City, NE, and third baseman Domanique Sanders, Fountain, CO.

    NORFOLK – Northeast Community College will add another sport to its list of athletic programs beginning in the 2017-18 academic year. “The addition of a baseball program is an another opportunity for our student-athletes to compete at the intercollegiate level and enhance their college experience,” said Jake Ripple, director of athletics.
