  • Northeast earns nine championships; other honors at Skills USA competition

    by amandab  4/28/2017 3:32:52 PM --  GRAND ISLAND – Northeast Community College students performed exceptionally well in a competition that showcases the best career and technical education students in Nebraska. Northeast crowned nine state champions and swept the competition in one category at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held recently at the Heartland Events Center and Fonner Park here.

  • Graphic Design students to showcase their work

    NORFOLK – Northeast Community College graphic design students will be showcasing their work during the programs’ annual portfolio show. This year’s event will be held Sunday, May 7, from 2-5 p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Northeast campus here.

  • Nebraska Forest Service recognizes Northeast's Arbor Day program

    LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Forest Service has recognized Northeast Community College for its hands-on work with young children that allows them to discover the importance of trees. Representatives of the College were presented with the agency’s Educator Award during its annual Nebraska Community Forestry and Tree City, Campus and Line USA Recognition Day. It was one of eleven awards presented during the event held earlier this month in Lincoln.

  • Northeast signs MOU with Mount Marty College

    YANKTON, SD - Students will have the opportunity to benefit from a new partnership between Mount Marty College and Northeast Community College beginning later this year. The presidents of the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Friday on Mount Marty’s campus here to create an educational transfer pathway from Northeast to Mount Marty.

  • Northeast to host health and wellness career camp for high school students

    by amandab  4/19/2017 2:11:18 PM --  NORFOLK - High school students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare are invited to sign up for an upcoming summer career camp at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Health and Wellness Summer Career Camp will be held Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 2, on the Norfolk campus. Camp meets 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

  • Spring Concert is this Sunday

    NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College Music Department will soon present its final concert of the 2016-17 academic year. The annual Spring Concert will be held on Sunday, April 23, at 2 p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk.

But now the institution has used the same concept to focus on why students attend college in the first place, to obtain a degree and eventually get a job.

  • Northeast biology students travel to Costa Rica

That’s the number of plant and animal species a group of Northeast Community College students was able to identify on a recent trip to Costa Rica. Ten students and four instructors traveled to the Central American country for an eight-day learning experience as part of Northeast’s Introduction to Environmental Issues course.

  • Northeast ag students place 4th at NACTA Conference

    NORFOLK – The annual Spring Tour by the Northeast Community College Singer’s Express and Jazz Machine is about to get underway. The two groups will travel a combined 2,900 miles in early April.

But an online criminal justice program at Northeast Community College gives those working in law enforcement the opportunity to balance class with the demands of their jobs.
