NORFOLK – J. Paul McIntosh was well-known for his philanthropic efforts to benefit the welfare of others and promoting benevolence for the betterment of the community. The Norfolk businessman and developer, who died Thursday at the age of 92, also used his time and treasure to benefit generations of students at Northeast Community College.

NORFOLK - A longtime supporter of Northeast Community College has established a new endowed scholarship for students of the College’s horticulture program. Renee Halsey, Norfolk, has created the R.E.N.E.E. H.A.L.S.E.Y. Scholarship, which stands for Rain Enhanced Nature Environmentally Enriching Horticulture through Attractive Landscaping Simply by Educating Youth.

O’NEILL – The campaign to raise $2.5 million for a new Northeast Community College extended campus in O’Neill has received another significant financial shot in the arm. The Holt County Visitors Committee has contributed $50,000 towards the project that will see a new complex constructed on Highway 275, next to the Farm Credit Services of America building in O’Neill.
