Or as the bard would have put it, “The patient must minister to himself.” But several students enrolled in Norfolk Senior High School’s Alternatives for Success (AFS) program had the opportunity recently to literally act out in order to “laugh oneself into stitches.”

  • Northeast to Host Inaugural Arts Night

Poetry, performance, prose and art will be featured during the first ever Arts Night 2015, on Wednesday, April 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Hawks’ Landing in the upper level of the Student Center on the Norfolk campus. The event is free and open to the public, according to Bonnie Johnson-Bartee, English instructor.

  • Northeast Places Third at NACTA Conference

    by jamesc  4/20/2015 1:56:47 PM --  GALVA, IL – Northeast Community College students finished in third place in sweepstakes for two-year colleges at the 2015 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Conference held at Black Hawk College – East Campus here. Northeast was one of 26 community colleges and 25 university teams to compete in the April 7-10 conference.

  • Northeast Students Named to All-Nebraska Academic Team

    by jamesc  4/16/2015 2:42:16 PM --  LINCOLN – Four Northeast Community College students were recognized recently in Lincoln for being named to the 2015 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-Nebraska Academic Team. Margaret Earney, of Whitney, Lorena Fernandez and Leticia Olague De Vargas, both of South Sioux City, and Alison Schmit, of Osmond, joined 25 other all-state team members from Nebraska’s five other community colleges in a ceremony at the Cornhusker Hotel.

  • World Cultures to be on Display at Northeast

The College’s International Student Association and the Oyate Native Club will host a World Culture Mix and Mingle on Sunday, April 26, from 4-6 p.m., in the College Welcome Center. The event was previously known as the Culture Show.

  • Northeast's Bradley Signs with Oral Roberts University

Jalen Bradley, a 6’ 1” sophomore guard from Norfolk, signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play at Oral Roberts University (ORU) in Tulsa, OK.

  • Oregon Signs Northeast's Trinder

    by jamesc  4/16/2015 7:51:06 AM --  NORFOLK – The University of Oregon has signed Northeast Community College women’s basketball standout Megan Trinder. The 5’7” sophomore guard from Hollywell, Queensland, Australia, signed with the NCAA Division I Ducks on Wednesday.

  • Northeast Signs its First Softball Recruit

    by jamesc  4/15/2015 4:07:49 PM --  NORFOLK - Northeast Community College has signed its first ever softball player. Amy Rodgers, of Craig, is a senior at Tekamah-Herman High School where she was a four-year starter at shortstop and served as captain her senior year. During her career, she had a .475 batting average, hit eight doubles, three triples, two homeruns, 26 runs and 21 runs batted in.
