Four Northeast students attended the 52nd National Leadership and Skills Conference, sponsored by SkillsUSA, in Louisville, KY, along with 230 students and advisors from Nebraska.

  • Northeast Drafting program adds new concentration

Structural Drafting will be offered as a concentration in the Associate of Applied Arts (AAS) in Drafting program beginning this fall. It joins Architectural and Industrial Facility drafting as concentrations offered by Northeast’s Drafting AAS program.

  • Northeast to close for Independence Day; fall registration continues

    by jamesc  6/27/2016 10:12:05 AM --  NORFOLK - In observance of Independence Day, all offices at Northeast Community College in Norfolk and its extended campuses in O’Neill, South Sioux City and West Point, will close on Friday, July 1, at 3 p.m. The college and its extended campuses will re-open Tuesday, July 5, at 8 a.m.

  • Longtime Northeast supporter establishes new endowed scholarship

Renee Halsey, Norfolk, has created the R.E.N.E.E. H.A.L.S.E.Y. Scholarship, which stands for Rain Enhanced Nature Environmentally Enriching Horticulture through Attractive Landscaping Simply by Educating Youth.

  • Risinger Green joins Northeast

    by jamesc  6/24/2016 8:57:30 AM --  NORFOLK – Susan Risinger Green has joined Northeast Community College to serve as the campaign coordinator for its proposed Agriculture, Water and Energy Center of Excellence. She joins the College after more than 27 years at WJAG, Lite Rock 97.5 and 106KIX Radio in Norfolk, where she served as assistant news director and farm director.

  • Northeast hosts basketball camps

    by amandab  6/22/2016 8:06:51 AM --  Matt Svehla, women’s basketball coach at Northeast Community College, leads a shooting drill during Northeast’s annual Basketball Camp this week on the Norfolk campus. Boys and girls in grades 3-12 took part in skills and position and shooting camps, and a four-on-four league over the past two weeks.

    by jamesc  6/16/2016 8:30:10 AM --  KEARNEY – Dr. Michael Chipps, president of Northeast Community College was recently named the recipient of Nebraska’s prestigious Elaine Stuhr Leadership and Advocacy Award. He received the award during the Department of Education's 2016 Nebraska Career Education (NCE) Conference here. More than 600 Nebraska Career Education teachers, school counselors and administrators attended the conference.

  • Northeast earns safety award

The College received an Award of Merit as part of the 2016 Nebraska’s Safest Companies and Community Safety Awards. Now in its 29th year, the awards recognized over 90 Nebraska organizations with outstanding accomplishments in safety records and programs.

  • Northeast student awarded scholarship to study abroad

Krisayla Rasmussen, Norfolk, has received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
