  • Northeast gears up for solar eclipse

    NORFOLK, NE - The first day of fall classes at Northeast Community College will be memorable in more ways than one this year. On that same day, Monday, August 21, a total solar eclipse will be visible across portions of the United States, from Oregon to South Carolina, and Northeast is planning to celebrate as well as use it as a learning opportunities in several classes.

  • Former student earns state broadcasting scholarship

    by jamesc  8/16/2017 11:01:36 AM --  LA VISTA, NE – A former Northeast Community College student is among 13 college students from across Nebraska to have earned a scholarship from a state broadcasting organization. Megan Kass, Scotland, SD, received the $500 scholarship from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association (NBA) Foundation. She and the other recipients were recognized during the organization’s annual meeting here recently.

    NORFOLK - As the Northeast Community College men’s and women’s soccer teams prepare for their third and second seasons, respectively, coaches Doug Seigle and Chad Miller describe their feelings the same way: “extremely excited.” The Northeast soccer teams begin their seasons next Tuesday when they both face Barton Community College.

    NORFOLK, NE - The graduates of Northeast Community College’s physical therapist assistant (PTA) program are now ready to enter their profession. The thirteen students from the Class of 2017 took part in a Recognition Ceremony before family, friends and faculty recently in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Norfolk campus.

Coach Dan Anderson said he has signed Moses Byekwaso, London, England, Seth Coatta, Minnetonka, MN, Jeremiah Coddon, Woodbury, MN, Tristen Belal Kamal, Brantford, Ontario, Canada, Jaquan Sanders-Smith, Minneapolis, MN, and Steve Wooten, Madison, Wisconsin, to play for the Hawks.

  • Incoming student wins Nebraska diesel competition

    HASTINGS, NE – An incoming Northeast Community College student has won a statewide competition that features the best student diesel technicians in the state.Jack Compton took first place in the student division of the Nebraska Super Tech, held recently at Central Community College here. Compton, Pierce, won a $500 tool voucher.
