Hawks softball players earn postseason honors

AMES, IA - Four members of the Northeast Community College softball team have been named to Iowa Community College Athletic Association (ICCAC) All-Region teams.

Savannah Robertson, Columbus, was named to the ICCAC Division II All-Region First Team. This season, Robertson, an infielder, recorded a .471 batting average and a .528 on-base percentage. She scored 50 runs and had 80 hits, 40 runs batted in (RBIs) and two home runs.

Alayna Allen, Columbus, was named to the ICCAC Division II All Region-Second Team. Allen, who pitched for the Hawks this season, had a .404 batting average and a .462 on-base percentage. She scored 26 runs, had 63 hits, 59 RBIs and five home runs.

Two players were named to the ICCAC Division II All-Region Honorable Mention Team.

Infielder Jade Long, Beatrice, recorded a .362 batting average and an on-base percentage of .451. She scored 24 runs, 30 hits, and 22 RBIs.

Emily Sherstone, Surrey, British Columbia, played outfield this season. She had a batting average of .321 and an on-base percentage of .401. Sherstone scored 54 runs, had 50 hits and 20 RBIs.

Northeast finished the season with an overall record of 18-34 and 4-20 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
