Hawks baseball splits with DMACC

BOONE, IA - The Northeast Community College baseball team split a doubleheader with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) here Friday. The Hawks won the first game, 14-6, and dropped the nightcap, 11-1.

Brennen Bales led the Hawks in game one, going 5-5 with three runs and four RBIs. Donovan Warren was 1-3 two runs; Christian Dumont, 2-5 with two runs and one RBI; Drew Smith, 1-3 with two runs and two RBIs; Tanner Hunt, 2-4 with one run and three RBIs. Dylan Wright (3-7) earned the win.

In game two, Smith went 2-3, and Bales was 1-2 with one RBI. Dumont had the lone run for the Hawks. Lane Koetter (3-5) took the loss.

Northeast (17-34-1 overall, 6-20 in conference) will wrap up regular season play tomorrow when they face DMACC in Des Moines again. The doubleheader is set to start at 1 p.m.
