Northeast baseball splits with Iowa Lakes

NEBRASKA CITY, NE - The Northeast Community College baseball team wrapped up its conference series with Iowa Lakes Community College here today. The Hawks won the first game, 9-8, and fell to the Lakers in the second, 10-1.

Christian Dumont went 2-4 in the first game with a double and three runs. Drew Smith was 3-3 with a double, four RBIs and three runs, while Kaden Hendrix finished 2-3. Alex Fetters earned the win, and Brennen Bales had the save.

In the Hawks' game two loss, David Richardson went 2-3. Hendrix was 2-3 with one RBI. Lane Koetter took the loss.

The Northeast-Midland University JV baseball game scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled due to wet field conditions. The Hawks (16-24-1 overall, 5-11 in conference) are scheduled to face #8 Kirkwood Community College in Wayne on Saturday. Start time for the doubleheader is 1 p.m.
