Hawks men's basketball falls to #17 Iowa Western

NORFOLK, NE - The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team was defeated by Iowa Western Community College here last night, 108-87.

Iowa Western is currently ranked 17th in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I poll.

Five minutes into the second half, the Hawks were able to cut the Reivers’ lead by six, but Iowa Western answered with a 13-2 run in two minutes.

Five Hawks scored in double figures. Jeremiah Codden led the pack with 24 points, two rebounds and two assists. Allen Anderson added 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. Melkisedek Moreaux recorded a double-double with 16 points, 14 boards, two steals and two blocks.

Northeast (12-7) will travel to Burlington, IA, on Saturday to take on Southeastern Community College at 7 p.m.
