NORFOLK, NE - Northeast Community College has signed two more high school seniors to play volleyball for the Hawks this fall.

Elley Beaver recorded 237 kills, 41 ace serves, 107 digs and 37 blocks during her final season for the Scotus Central Catholic Shamrocks in Columbus in 2017.

She was also named to the Centennial All-Conference team and earned All-State Honorable Mention honors this year.

“Elley is a great volleyball player with a lot of talent,” said Amanda Schultze, Northeast volleyball coach. “She puts up a good block and has a great arm swing as well. We are very excited to have her be a part of the team in the fall.”

MaKayla Davidson, of Alliance, will also play for Northeast. She finished 559 set assists, 53 ace serves, 135 kills and 250 digs for the Bulldogs. The team tied a school record with 23 wins this past season.

Schultze said, “We are very excited to have another strong setter join our team. MaKayla has been a part of a very good team and will bring a lot of volleyball knowledge to us in the fall.”

Beaver and Davidson join Caitlin Kumm, of Osmond, as the newest members of the Hawks volleyball program, which competed for the second consecutive year in November at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II National Tournament in Charleston, WV.
