Northeast announces holiday schedule; registration continues

NORFOLK - Northeast Community College in Norfolk and its extended campuses in O’Neill, South Sioux City and West Point, will close over the holidays and have limited business hours on Thursday, January 4.

All Northeast offices will close on Friday, December 22, at 3 p.m. College office operations will resume business at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.

Northeast offices will be closed Thursday morning, January 4, so all faculty and staff may attend the Spring In-Service. College offices in Norfolk will re-open at 1 p.m., and at 3 p.m., in O’Neill, South Sioux City and West Point.

Meanwhile, registration for Spring 2018 classes remains open through the first day of classes on Monday, January 8. Returning students may register anytime online through their My Northeast account, or to a schedule an appointment with their advisor, Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Bradley Ranslem, director of admissions, said new degree seeking freshmen students at Northeast Community College are required to contact the Admissions Office to schedule a time to schedule a
new student registration appointment prior to the first day of classes.

“During this appointment, students will meet with an advisor, register for classes, learn about Degree Works, obtain their picture ID and receive a college catalog, handbook and planner.”

Ranslem said new, incoming students are reminded that their official placement test scores must be on file at Northeast before registration. If a student has not taken the free Accuplacer test, he or she is encouraged to contact the Northeast Testing Center at (402) 844-7281 to schedule an appointment to complete the test before registration.
