Miller to lead men's and women's soccer teams at Northeast

NORFOLK, NE – The first head coach of the Northeast Community College men’s soccer team has retained his former position. Chad Miller, who coached the men’s squad two-years ago, will also remain in his current position as head coach of the College’s women’s soccer program.

Kurt Kohler, athletic director, said combining these positions, with Miller as head coach, is the right move for Northeast’s soccer programs at this time.

“I am excited Chad wants to coach both teams,” Kohler said. “He did an outstanding job stepping in as the interim men’s soccer coach, and I believe, under his leadership, the men’s soccer program will experience a great deal of success.”

Miller took over as men’s head coaching duties early this past season and immediately began winning contests a short time later. He served as Northeast’s men’s soccer coach when the sport was introduced at the College in 2015. He became Northeast’s women’s head soccer coach in 2016.

This past season, both Northeast soccer teams qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI playoffs. The women’s team finished this past season with a record 12-6-1 in its second year as an intercollegiate sport, while the men’s team ended the season with a 7-12-1 record.
