Northeast men's basketball picks up another win at NDSCS Classic

WAHPETON, ND - The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team went 2-0 at the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) Classic over the weekend after defeating Bryant & Stratton College on Saturday, 85-80.

Allen Anderson led the Hawks in scoring with 28 points and four assists and was also 7-for-9 from the free throw line. Steve Wooten added 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Melkisedek Moreaux chipped in nine points and grabbed 11 boards.

Northeast Coach Dan Anderson said his team had a strong start but ran into foul trouble in the second half.

“The bench stepped up and played well during the second half. We really needed that because of the foul trouble.”

The Hawks (3-0) are back in action this weekend when they host the Hawks Classic at the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. On Friday, they will face Iowa Lakes Community College at 8 p.m., and on Saturday, they are set to play Iowa Central Community College at 6 p.m.
