"This was our third game in four days, and that can be a real challenge for a young team, especially to open the season," said Matt Svehla, Hawks coach.
One of those games included Friday night's 55-45 overtime win over NDSCS.
"Despite all of that, I was pleased with our energy level on both ends of the court, and we played with pretty good focus," Svehla said.
Judit Valls scored 12 points and picked up six rebounds. Mykala Baylor had ten points and six rebounds, while Irene Sanz recorded nine points and four rebounds. Sierra Bell had seven points and six rebounds, and Jade Blackburn finished with nine points.
Northeast (3-0) will host the Hawks Classic on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Hawks will face Iowa Lakes Community College at 6 p.m., and on Saturday, they will play Des Moines Area Community College at 4 p.m. All games will be held in the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus.
