Dr. Ron Holt, a board-certified psychiatrist and a motivational speaker, author, and facilitator, spoke on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) issues recently at Northeast Community College.
Holt, of San Francisco, CA, is the author of bestselling book PRIDE: You Can’t Heal If You’re Hiding from Yourself. He travels the country providing transformational education and mentoring to help people lead more authentic lives. He also has a coloring book that includes 39 designs with inspirational quotes and messages of affirmation that complement each design, and serves a s companion to his book. Holt’s appearance at Northeast Community College was sponsored by the organization, PRIDE, a group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and ally students. The group’s purpose is to increase awareness, promote education, and provide support to students who struggle with the issue of sexual orientation. Allies provide support for their friends and families.
