Northeast Coach Chad Miller said his team played effectively.
“The boys played well. We controlled the ball well but struggled connecting our passes in the final third of the field.”
Central recorded six shots on goal to the Hawks’ five. Massimiliano Simonazzi recorded six saves for Northeast.
Earlier in the season, the Raiders defeated Northeast, 2-0.
“I think this game is a great testament for how far the boys have come,” Miller said.
Northeast (4-6-1) will face Indian Hills Community College, who are currently ranked sixth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I poll, on Saturday in Ottumwa, IA, for a 2 p.m. match.
