Nursing students participate in PATCH

Kourtney Hoefler, Battle Creek, a nursing student at Northeast Community College, checks the blood pressure of Adam Peterson, speech and theatre instructor at the College, during the PATCH (Planned Approach to Community Health) Health Fair recently.

Nursing students provided free blood pressure checks. The annual health fair, held in the Cox Activities Center on Northeast campus in Norfolk, offered free and low cost screenings as well as complete blood profiles at a reduced cost. There were over 50 exhibits featuring healthy living choices for the entire family, educational sessions and the opportunity to interact with health care providers throughout the area.
