Curry named ICCAC Player of the Week

AMES, IA – A member of the Northeast Community College women’s soccer team has earned conference honors. Hailey Curry has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week.

In just its second year of their women's soccer program, Northeast has appeared to have already turned the corner. Curry, a freshman from Elkhorn, has been the catalyst for the Hawks' 7-2 start to the 2017 season. A team high eight goals on the season, including two hat-tricks in last week's matches against MCC-Blue River and Dakota County Tech, Curry and company still have several big tests this year.

“Hailey has been a great asset to this team,” said Chad Miller, Northeast coach. “She quietly does what she needs to do to better the team and I feel she is really someone to look up too. She is a great teammate and has really blown out all expectations."

The Hawks have two home matches this weekend. On Saturday, Northeast will entertain Scott Community College at 2 p.m., and then play host to Western Nebraska Community College on Sunday at 12-noon.

All matches will take place at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
