Northeast Serves

Robertson, Columbus, was one of hundreds of Northeast students to participate in “Northeast Serves,” an event that allowed the students to create items that will be given to local community agencies and organizations. Items will be donated to the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska, Behavioral Health Services, the Homeless Project of Norfolk, Norfolk Rescue Mission, Meals On Wheels, Bright Horizons, and Heritage of Bel-Air. Hundreds of Northeast Community College students took time Monday to participate in a national day of service and remembrance project on Patriot Day, Monday, September 11. The students who took part in “Northeast Serves” created items at one of six stations in the College’s Paradise Courtyard. Services projects included making chew and enrichment toys for the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska; sensory bottles for foster children at Behavioral Health Services; teen hygiene kits for the Homeless Project of Norfolk and Norfolk Rescue Mission; Breakfast Buddy Baskets for Meals On Wheels; first aid kits for Bright Horizons and handmade cards with candy for Heritage of Bel Air.
