Northeast students build leadership skills through development series

NORFOLK, NE - National touring speaker Bobby Audley of Take Back College leads students in a cheer as part of the Student Leadership Development Series (SLDS) at Northeast Community College recently. The four-part leadership training is provided to the College’s four key campus leadership groups, including the Resident Assistant/Student Assistant team, Student Ambassadors, Student Activities Council and Student Leadership Association.

For the two-day, sixteen-hour summer session, Northeast invited Audley to present HEART (Humility, Energy/Execution, Awareness, Relationships, Trust/Teamwork) training, which creates a culture of positivity through physical, intellectual and emotional experiences. “There are no slide shows or lectures,” said Carissa Kollath, director of student activities. “It’s hands-on and immersive learning to build confidence and to learn how to effectively lead others.” (Courtesy Northeast Community College)
