Students create, make and innovate at Thingamajig Invention Convention

NORFOLK, NE - Luke Felgate (center), Norfolk, receives a helping hand from John Liewer, wind energy instructor, at the Thingamajig Invention Convention held recently on the campus of Northeast Community College in Norfolk. High school students designed, built and tested a “thingamajig” at the three-day camp, as they developed problem solving skills through hands-on projects and challenges.

Led by Northeast faculty and staff, the camp was held on the Norfolk and South Sioux City campuses, and was designed to spark interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) career fields. (Courtesy Northeast Community College)
