ANKENY, IA – The Northeast Community College golf team finished third in the Iowa Central Community College Invitational here over the weekend. The Hawks shot a two-day total of 622 at Otter Creek Golf Course. Iowa Central captured first with a 602 followed by North Iowa Area Community College with a 614.
Northeast Coach Brad Bosh is pleased with his team’s play at this point in the season. “I am extremely happy with our progress for the little amount of time we have had to practice this spring.”
Iowa Central’s Ben Hogan was medalist with a 142 followed by teammate’s Matt Sturgill’s 143. The Hawks’ Justin Mlnarik took fifth after shooting a 149. Michael Bergquist finished ninth with a 153. He has placed in the top ten in all three matches of the spring season.
Elsewhere for Northeast, Mike Smith shot a 158, Conner Watson had 163, and Alex Dredge finished with a 164.
Coming up next for the Hawks will be the AIB College of Business Spring Invitational, April 11 and 12 at Lake Panorama Golf Course in Panora, IA.
