  • Northeast earns nine championships; other honors at Skills USA competition

Northeast crowned nine state champions and swept the competition in one category at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference held recently at the Heartland Events Center and Fonner Park here.

    NORFOLK – Northeast Community College graphic design students will be showcasing their work during the programs’ annual portfolio show. This year’s event will be held Sunday, May 7, from 2-5 p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Center on the Northeast campus here.

    NORFOLK – Hundreds of students from approximately 60 Nebraska high schools were on the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College this week to take part in the 2017 Nebraska State Journalism Championships. The one-day event was sponsored by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA), the Norfolk Area Sports Council and Northeast Community College.

  • Longtime music director honored at Northeast's spring concert

Boullion, who is retiring this spring, has served in the music department at Northeast for 31 years.

  • One-act duet to be staged at Northeast

    by amandab  4/27/2017 3:09:46 PM --  NORFOLK - The Northeast Players acting troupe at Northeast Community College are putting the finishing touches on a pair of one-act plays they will be performing next week. “The Assassin’s Duet” will be staged in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast campus Thursday, May 4, Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee will be performed on Sunday, May 7, at 2 p.m.

  • Howells-Dodge's Brester signs to play volleyball at Northeast

    by amandab  4/27/2017 9:04:01 AM --  NORFOLK - Samantha Brester, a standout volleyball player from Howells-Dodge High School, has signed to play volleyball at Northeast Community College this fall. A four-year starter and four-year letter winner for the Jaguars, Brester recorded 60 assists, 295 digs, 778 kills, 68 ace serves, 115 solo blocks and 289 assist blocks in her career.

  • Hawks golf places seventh at Iowa Central Invite

    by amandab  4/27/2017 8:48:05 AM --  FORT DODGE, IA - The Northeast Community College golf team finished in seventh place at the Iowa Central Community College Invitational held at Fort Dodge Country Club here yesterday. The Hawks tallied a combined score of 320.

  • Nebraska Forest Service recognizes Northeast's Arbor Day program

    LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Forest Service has recognized Northeast Community College for its hands-on work with young children that allows them to discover the importance of trees. Representatives of the College were presented with the agency’s Educator Award during its annual Nebraska Community Forestry and Tree City, Campus and Line USA Recognition Day. It was one of eleven awards presented during the event held earlier this month in Lincoln.

  • Northeast to celebrate the arts

Poetry, prose, music and visual art will be featured during the third annual Arts Night on Wednesday, May 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in Hawks’ Landing in the upper level of the Student Center on the Norfolk campus.

  • Northeast softball team to open postseaon play

  • Hawks go 2-2 in weekend doubleheaders

    NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College softball team went two-for-two in weekend doubleheaders at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park here. In the first set of games on Saturday, the Hawks beat Ellsworth Community College 5-2 and 6-5.

  • Northeast signs MOU with Mount Marty College

    YANKTON, SD - Students will have the opportunity to benefit from a new partnership between Mount Marty College and Northeast Community College beginning later this year. The presidents of the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Friday on Mount Marty’s campus here to create an educational transfer pathway from Northeast to Mount Marty.
