  • Northeast Golfers Finish Third at Southeast Invite

    by jamesc  4/1/2015 11:21:19 AM --  BEATRICE – The Northeast Community College golf team finished third at the Southeast Community College Spring Invitational this week. The Hawks finished with a two-day total of 624 – five shots behind Doane College and two back of Southeast in the six team field. Matches were played Monday at the York County Club and on Tuesday at the Beatrice Country Club.

  • 2,000 Students Take Part in 33rd Northeast Jazz Festival

    by jamesc  3/30/2015 11:44:11 AM --  NORFOLK – Middle and high school student musicians competed recently for top honors at the 33rd annual Northeast Jazz Festival in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast Community College campus in Norfolk. The two-day event drew 80 musical groups from Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and South Dakota with over 2000 students performing. The competition hosted jazz bands and show/jazz choirs for school in four levels. Twenty trophies were presented at the end of each competition day for first, second, third, and fourth place and solo and instrumental awards.

  • Northeast Inducts New PTK Students

Students were installed into Northeast’s Phi Theta Kappa, (PTK), Tau Chi chapter during the spring 2015 induction ceremony held in the Lifelong Learning Center.

  • Northeast to Close for Spring Break

  • Hawks Take Third at Midland Invite

The Hawks and Northwestern College shot 307. Iowa Western Community College claimed team honors with 298 while Midland’s A team was second with a 301 in the eleven team field.

  • Northeast Speech Team Captures Second Place at National Tournament

The Hawks earned second place in Overall Team Sweepstakes, Division II, at the Fifth Annual Junior Varsity National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS.

  • Northeast Nursing Students Teach Nutrition to Fourth Graders

Chelsea Nichols, of Bartlett, and Kelsey Mundhenke, of O’Neill, taught a class on nutrition and healthy eating recently to approximately 40 fourth grade students at Washington Elementary School in Norfolk.

  • Woodhead Named Northeast Softball Coach

  • Northeast Hosts 1,200 Students for FFA-Ag Education Contest

    by jamesc  3/13/2015 8:58:08 AM --  NORFOLK - Over 1,200 high schools students were on the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College recent to take part in the FFA Districts 3, 4 and 10 Career Development Event – Ag Education Contest. The students came from 40 high schools from across the region.
