    COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Twenty-one Northeast Community College student-athletes have earned academic honors through the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). They are among 5,300 students nationally to be recognized for achievement in the classroom during the 2016-17 academic year.

    NORFOLK, NE - Luke Felgate (center), Norfolk, receives a helping hand from John Liewer, wind energy instructor, at the Thingamajig Invention Convention held recently on the campus of Northeast Community College in Norfolk. High school students designed, built and tested a “thingamajig” at the three-day camp, as they developed problem solving skills through hands-on projects and challenges.

    NORFOLK, NE - Disability services at Northeast Community College has always served a vital function at the College, and demand for its services is rapidly increasing. Mary Balaski, director of Disability Services at Northeast, said that over the last five years, Northeast has seen a 27 percent increase in the number of students who were identified and received accommodations through Disability Services.

    AMES, IA – Several members of Northeast Community College’s athletic teams have earned post season academic honors. The twenty-three student-athletes have been named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Spring 2017 All-Region Academic Teams. Northeast is one of 14-members of the ICCAC.

    CAGUAS, PUERTO RICO – Northeast Community College’s latest baseball recruit hales from Puerto Rico. Hawks Coach Marcus Clapp said Jean M. Santos, Caguas, Puerto Rico, is the program’s 33rd commitment for the upcoming season. He previously attended Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and High School.
