Astronomy: Beginning Observational Astronomy/Atmospheric Optics

If you have an interest in the night (or daytime) sky, this class will allow you to better understand what you see. You will explore some concepts of celestial mechanics, types of objects to view day or night, and equipment that can be used to enjoy the sky. This class will help you enjoy the sky without special equipment, use the equipment you already have, or select equipment to buy if you want to take your interest to the next level. BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

CDL Training - O'Neill/Norfolk

Instruction will include everything you will need to know to pass the license exam, pre-trip inspection, and practical driving test. You will spend 16 hours in the classroom that will prepare you for the written test needed to obtain a learner's permit. You will then complete the 40-hour driving portion of the course in Norfolk, which will culminate with a driving test. The testing fee is included in the course cost. The classroom portion will be completed April 26-27 at the O'Neill Extended Campus. The driving/testing portion will take place at Norfolk Campus May 21-25. Medication Aide

This course is designed to prepare the student to meet the requirements of the Medication Aide Act and the responsibilities of the medication aide in an assisted living facility and/or nursing facility. This course includes information regarding medication administration, pharmacology, rules and regulations, classification of drugs, orders, storage, abbreviations and an overview of commonly used drugs and documentation. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state administered written exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the student's name will be placed on the medication aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

This course provides the student with a technical understanding of arc welding, welding safety, power sources, electrode classification and selection. Welding will be done in all positions on mild steel carbon material, single and multiple pass, using mild steel, low hydrogen and iron power electrodes, with DC current. Depending on ability of student groove, welds may also be performed as time permits. Course also provides understanding of oxyacetylene cutting as well as safety practices in cutting. Supplies needed: Welding helmet, welding cap, clear safety glasses, pliers, needle nose pliers, carbon steel wire brush, welding coat or leathers, cutting goggles, and welding SMAW gloves. Chipping hammers and wire brushes are optional.
