Basic Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. The book is located in the campus bookstore, 402-844-7140. CLASS CANNOT BE REGISTERED ONLINE. An additional $45 fee will be required if student choose to register to take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam at the end of the course. This $45 fee will be required at the time of the non-credit exam registration. **More specific class information may be listed in "Take This Class".**

Build a Blanket Ladder

Blanket ladders are a simple, yet decorative way to keep your favorite quilts and throws easily accessible. CDL Training - O'Neill/Norfolk

Instruction will include everything you will need to know to pass the license exam, pre-trip inspection, and practical driving test. You will spend 16 hours in the classroom that will prepare you for the written test needed to obtain a learner's permit. You will then complete the 40-hour driving portion of the course in Norfolk, which will culminate with a driving test. The testing fee is included in the course cost. The classroom portion will be completed July 27-28 at the O'Neill Extended Campus. The driving/testing portion will take place at Norfolk Campus August 21-25. Depending on ability of student groove welds may also be performed as time permits. Course also provides understanding of oxyacetylene cutting as well as safety practices in cutting. Supplies needed are: helmet, welding cap, clear safety glasses, pliers, welding coat or leathers, cutting goggles, and SMAW gloves. Chipping hammers and wire brushes are optional.
