Coach

Amanda Schultze

Head Coach Amanda SchultzeAmanda (Nelson) Schultze is a 2006 graduate of Wakefield High School. She attended Central Community College in Columbus for two years, where she received an Associate Degree. She earned Athletic and Academic All-American honors as a setter with the Raiders and held both the Season Assist and Career Assists records with 1,794 and 3,288 the last 10 and 11 years.

Schultze then transferred to Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, where she played libero for the Mustangs and helped them earn two trips to the National Tournament. Schultze earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Morningside College and obtained her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Sport Management from Wayne State College. She was a graduate assistant volleyball coach at Wayne State for three seasons.

Schultze coached the Hawks to a 15-21 record in her first season. They made it to the regional tournament and finished seventh in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). In her second season, the Hawks went 16-16. They made it to the Region 11B final game and fell short in four sets. The Hawks finished third in the ICCAC. In her third season, the Hawks went 17-17 and finished fourth in the ICCAC. The Hawks made it to the Regional final game and fell short against DMACC who finished fourth at the National Tournament.

The 2016 team went 27-13 on the year, finished second in the ICCAC, won the Region 11B Tournament and earned its first trip to the NJCAA DII National Volleyball Tournament in West Virginia, since the volleyball program was reinstated.

Assistant Coach Sarah Oligmueller

Coach Oligmueller

Sarah (Novak) Oligmueller is a 2007 graduate of Howells High School. She attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice for two years, where she received an Associate Degree. While there, she earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 9 All-Conference, All-Region, and All-Tournament honors as an outside hitter for the Storm.

She then transferred to Peru State College where she was an outside hitter for the Bobcats. Oligmueller was a two-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) Scholar-Athlete, NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and a MCAC 2nd Team All-Conference athlete. In her last year at Peru State, she was the Bobcat’s strength and conditioning coach and student-assistant coach. While coaching, Oligmueller was a member of Character Driven Coaching - Champions of Character.

Oligmueller earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Peru State College and obtained her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Sport Management from Wayne State College. She was a graduate assistant in the Health, Human Performance and Sport department.

 Oligmueller will be entering her fifth season as assistant coach for the Hawks volleyball team.
